ESAA National Cross-Country Champs – Sefton Park 2026

As we returned from a sunny day in Liverpool we could reflect on one of, and some may say, the most successful day(s) for the London team at the ESAA Championships.

The weather was kind as the rain had fallen the night before (and then again once we were on the train home) and parts of the course were very muddy but that did not daunt our London stars! A big thank you to all our Team Managers!!

Many congratulations to each and every one of the London as we had a mixture of first and second year athletes in each age group.

A particular mention to:

  • Sonny Allen – 1st place in Inter Girls  (International vest)
  • Charlotte Foster – 5th place Junior Girls  (International vest)
  • Inter Boys team – 1st place
  • Junior Girls team – 3rd place
  • Senior Girls team – 4th place

Top 50 places for: Otelia G-D (IG), Lizzie Sanders & Skyla O’B (JG), Khalid H, Theo C, Max B, James C-N (all IB), Arabella N, Ruby J, Monika P (all SG), Harris A (SB).

This is the first time since 2014 (Saskia Millard) that we have had a female age group winner and the first time since 2016 (Alex Yee) that we have had a London winner.

London has never previously won the Inter Boys team championship.

Further congratulations to Sonny Allen who will be awarded the Dick Wyer Trophy of the best individual result at the ESAA Cross-Country Championships.

Good luck to Sonny and Charlotte in Bangor (Wales) this Saturday!

Update on SIAB in Bangor – a fantastic win for Sonny and a big “jump up” place wise for Charlotte! Well done, girls!
